William E. Gyuricsek

April 20, 1933 ~ February 10, 2017 (age 83)

MADISON – William E. Gyuricsek, age 83, passed away Friday, February 10, 2017.  Bill was born on April 20, 1933 in Hacklebernie, PA to Stephen and Julia Gyuricsek.  After graduating from Mauch Chunk high school in 1951 he joined the US Air Force where he served in Alaska and later was stationed at Truax Field in Madison, WI.  That is where he met the love of his life, Elaine Knutson.  They married on September 23, 1955.  Bill was a truck driver for Schoep's Ice Cream for over 30 years, and after retiring,  went to work for American Family Insurance driving the catastrophe team trailer.  Bill was the friendliest man you’d ever meet and always had a story to tell about his extensive pen collection.  He loved to fish and spend time with his grandson Joe. He also grew the most beautiful angel trumpet plants. Grandpa Bill will be missed dearly. 

Bill is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elaine; grandson, Joe (Kelsey Rolling); sisters, Margaret and Elsie.  He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his son Stephen .; siblings, Joseph, John, Stephen,and Rose Borosh. 

 A celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 North Sherman Avenue, Madison.  A visitation will be held from 10:00AM until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
