Madison- Donald G. Alford, age 83 went to the big golf course in the sky on February 13, 2018. He was born on 3-26-34 in Kansas City, MO to Lee and Bertha Alford. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Harlan Alford. Don married the love of his life and best friend Dee Sedlacek on 11-17-72. Don had a long term career in the construction industry as owner of Badger Restoration and A1 Restoration before he retired. A highlight of his career was his work on restoring the Wisconsin State Capitol building in Madison. Don was an Air Force Veteran who served in World War II. He was a lifetime member of VFW 8483 and the Madison Elks Lodge 410. Don enjoyed golfing, boating, traveling and having a good time with family and friends.
Don is survived by his wife Dee, niece Kay Alford Cosper, nephews Owen and James Alford, cousins Scott, John and Leon Alford and cousin Donna Nodich. He is also survived by great nephews, Jason and Jon Cosper, great niece Caitlyn Christie, great great niece Aria Christie and great great nephew Dylan Cosper. He is also loved and remembered by a host of Funderburk cousins in his beloved Kirby, Arkansas. Also left to remember him are good friends Ken and Betty Kurska.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 5001 N. Sherman Ave., with Father James Uppena officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
