Eunice Schwarze, of Madison, Wisconsin, age 84, passed away on November 11, 2017.
Eunice was born on February 1, 1933, in Wausau, Wisconsin, the daughter of Alice Paronto Schwarze and Herman J. Schwarze, who preceded her in death. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mayville, Wisconsin.
She is survived by two brothers, David J. Schwarze, Wautoma, Wisconsin; Arthur L. (Jean) Schwarze, Lexington, Nebraska; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Her brother Herman O. (Rhoda) Schwarze preceded her in death.
A 1950 graduate of Mayville High School, she attended Fond du Lac College in 1951. She received the Certified Professional Secretary rating in 1968 through the National Secretaries Association. She was instrumental in starting the Fond du Lac Chapter of the National Secretaries Association and served as its first president. Later, she transferred her membership to the Madison Chapter, where she also served as president.
Her career included 13 years as a legal secretary in Fond du Lac and Madison, and 13 years as an area supervisor and operations officer for the Selective Service System in Wisconsin. She retired in 1996 and pursued her lifelong interests of traveling and writing.
A memorial service will be held in 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Mayville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the Dane County Humane Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
