Veronica A. (Rose) SchmittFebruary 4, 1933 ~ August 6, 2017 (age 84)
Veronica A. Schmitt, age 84, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at St. Mary’s Hospital from a ruptured aneurysm with many family members at her side.
She was born on February 4, 1933 in Highland, WI, the daughter of Lawrence and Marie (Keyes) Rose. Veronica graduated from Highland High School in 1951. She met Donald Schmitt from the big city of Madison through her sister Mary and Mary’s soon to be husband, Bob Anvoots. She worked at Hills Coffee Shop at the bus station in 1950 and then fell in love with the love of her life, Don, because of his beautiful teeth. They got married on June 21, 1951.
God picked the perfect career for her to be the mother of 7 children, who she devoted her whole life to, while making a very loving family life for all of us. Veronica and Don owned several apartment buildings which she took care of by renting the apartments and doing the books.
She is survived by her husband Don; her 7 children and their families: Peggy (Edward) Carberry and their 2 children, EJ and Rosemarie; Deborah (David) Fahey and their 4 children, Christine White, Carolyn Fahey, Catherine Wessling and Stephen; Barbara (Bernard Young) Schmitt; Donald (Mary) Schmitt and their 2 children, Michael and Becky Eastman; Cynthia (Mark) Tiggelaar and their 2 children, Kaleena and Kya; John (Renee) Schmitt and their 3 children, Jessica, Nathan and Matthew; and Mary Kae Schmitt; 3 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; siblings, Frank (Marv) Rose, Cecilia (Don) Raimer, Larry (Marlene) Rose and Margaret (LeRoy) Kraak; as well as many other relatives and friends.
