William "Bill" T. FergerJune 6, 1926 ~ February 14, 2017 (age 90)
Madison/St. Germain, Wisconsin – William “Bill” Ferger, age 90, left this world peacefully, surrounded by his five children on February 14, 2017. Dad lived a life full of love and accomplishments. Bill was born to Elizabeth and John Ferger in Madison, Wisconsin on June 6, 1926. Bill attended Central High School and then enlisted in the Navy, shortly before his 18th birthday. After his tour of duty, Bill returned to Madison and joined the Madison Fire Department. Bill's employment on the Fire Department served the Madison community for over 33 years.
Bill married, the love of his life, Jean Marie Joyce, on June 28th, 1952 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Bill and Jean remained active members at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Madison and St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sayner, Wisconsin. In 1993 Bill and Jean moved to their dream home on Lake Alma in St. Germain, WI. Bill loved his family, friends, the northwoods, Lake Alma, golf, fishing and working around the yard.
Bill is survived his two sons, Tim (Wendy) Ferger of Wauwatosa, Jay Ferger of St. Germain; three daughters, Cindy (Bill) Bedford of Fairview, UT., Amy (Gary) French of Madison, WI, and Liz Ferger, (Rachel Opgenorth) of Sheboygan, WI; 10 grandchildren, Tim, Samantha, Donovan and Jonathan Ferger of Wauwatosa, Hannah Barber of Sandy, UT., Sylvia Bedford (Cameron Morgan) of So. Jordan, UT, Ryan French, Jeff (Stephanie) French, Kelley (Jason) Kreger of Marshall, WI, Kari (Shawn) Jacobson of Madison; and 4 great grandchildren, Michele, Mason, Ryder & Alyia. Bill is also survived by his wonderful nieces and nephews, other relatives, friends and wonderful neighbors.
Preceding Bill in Heaven is his loving wife of 48 years; his parents; brothers; sister; and nephew; Jean's parents, and many relatives and good friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY REDEEMER CATHOLIC CHURCH,120 W. Johnson St., Madison at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2017. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
