Obituary
VERONA – Barbara A. Wiest, age 86, passed away peacefully at her home, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. She was born on February 16, 1938. Barb is survived by her husband, Dick; sister, Dianne of Ridgway, Colorado; good friends, Kristin MacDaniel, Lucy Strassman, Kathy (Carl) Maglio, Ashley Przybilla, and Doug Schmidt.
Barb met Dick Wiest in 1964; they married on February 1, 1969. She loved shopping, crossword puzzles, and flowers. In later years she could no longer drive so her friends took her in their cars. Barb worked for the Federal Government for 27 ½ years before she retired. She worked 17 ½ years at the United States Armed Forces Institute (USAFI) and 10 years at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp (FDIC). Barb was a devoted wife, daughter, and sister. Barb will be greatly missed by her husband, Dick and sister, Dianne, and many friends and relatives. She touched many lives and was very sweet and kind.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Cletus and Ann Meyer, many aunts, uncles and other family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at ST. ANDREW CATHOLIC CHURCH, 301 N. Main Street, Verona at 11:00am, Fr. Scott Emerson and Fr. Eugene "Bud" Hollfelder presiding. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 10:00am until time of Mass. Burial at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery, Verona.

Fortunate to call Barbara and Dick our friends through the "Radio Garage Sale on WIBA. Sharing a meal at the High Point in Ridgeway and being fortunate to have spent nearly 4 hours in their company about a month back. Two wonderful people , two wonderful friends.
