Obituary For Carlos Lorenzo Ruiz Rubalcaba

Madison – Our father, Carlos Lorenzo Ruiz Rubalcaba, age 70, passed away on January 3rd, 2023. Carlos was born on August 10, 1952, in Mexico City, Mexico to parents Ruben Ruiz Izabal and Rosa Rubalcaba Jaimes. He was very proud to have become a citizen of the United States on April 8, 1988, in Sitka, Alaska and later receive his high school diploma on December 2, 1992, in Juneau, Alaska. Carlos had an adventurous spirit and loved to travel. Carlos found peace and joy in life as a semi-truck driver for Werner Enterprises – which allowed him to see much of the lower 48’s. He enjoyed life working at Sitka Sound Seafood in Alaska and was also a proud volunteer fireman. He loved walking, collecting treasures, writing, listening to Spanish and classical music and reading the Bible. Most of all he loved his daughters and grandchildren and would do anything for them. He had a “Heart of Gold” and will never be forgotten. Carlos is survived by his three daughters: Jennifer (Craig Niemeyer) Ruiz, Cecilia (Bradley) Mears and Rosa (Jesse) Retrum; grandchildren: Madison Ruiz, Ava Mears, Weston Retrum and Drew Retrum. He’s also survived by sisters: Maria Rosa Eugenia Ruiz Rubalcaba, Sandra Patricia Ruiz Marquez and brothers: Jorge Ruiz Marquez and Alejandro Ruiz Marquez. Additionally, he’s survived by his ex-wife Diane Ruiz and many nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and other family in addition to countless friends including those from the Madison Senior Center and the McDonalds near his home on East Washington Ave. He was proceeded in death by his parents: Ruben and Rosa, brothers: Porfirio Ruben Ruiz Rubalcaba, Marcos Enrique Ruiz Rubalcaba and sister: Leticia del Rosario Ruiz Marquez. A private celebration of life will be conducted.
