Obituary For Janice Jean Quinlan

Madison – Janice Jean “Jocko” (Dobson) Quinlan, 80, of Madison, WI passed away at home on June 4, 2023 after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Janice was born February 22, 1943 to Glenn and Nicolina (Cerro) Dobson in Madison.

Jan graduated from Madison East High School in 1961 and married William J. (Bill) Quinlan in January of 1967. She worked many years for the State of WI, especially at Central Wisconsin Center. She was always taking care of others and loved children. Her greatest accomplishment was making it possible for her son, Timothy, to be at home with the best care possible. She enjoyed knitting, bowling, and watching her grandchildren in their sporting events.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William Quinlan, and her brothers Richard and Patrick Dobson.

Jan is survived by her daughter Tina (Jared) Redders and her son Timothy Quinlan. Her grandchildren Austin, Hailey and Emma Redders. A special niece Tammi Natera, her childhood best friend Judy Horsfall, her caregiver Nicole, and her fur baby Chloe. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mom, you’ve been suffering for so long, we hope you are at peace! A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Aunt Janice also tried to help up when needed. I was thankful for her around the time of My Mother's passing. You will be missed! You and Mom can now give Bill and hard time.

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
