Obituary For Jerold "Jerry" Frank
MADISON – Jerold J. Frank, age 91, passed away, peacefully, on Saturday, September 3, 2022. Jerry was born on Christmas Day, 1930 in Sauk County, WI to Anton and Alma (Hutter) Frank. He grew up in Madison, working for his dad at Tony Frank’s Tavern. At 17, he enlisted with the US Navy on June 17, 1948 until June 13, 1952 during the Korean Conflict. He married, Esther Adank, on January 24, 1953 in Madison. Jerry owned his own painting business as well as multiple taverns which included the Bull Ring on State Street. He enjoyed watching Packer games, fishing with his buddies, golfing, buying a round of drinks for everybody, and frequent trips to Ho Chunk, where the pit bosses knew him by name. We will never forget his famous phrases and colorful language.
Jerry is survived by his sons, Anthony (Arlene), Robert, Donald, Richard, Philip (Michelle), and Daniel (Stacy) Frank; grandchildren, Susan (Michael) Till, Wendy (Aron) Gish, James (Alisha) Frank, Robert (Katie) and Lauren Frank, Derek (Cheril), Connor and Micah Frank, Morgan, Ryan and Alexander Frank, Tyler Fry, Zachary and Dylan Frank; many great grandchildren; many great great grandchildren; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Eileene) Adank, Donald (Louise) Adank, Carol Rossman, Thomas Adank. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife; parents; his brother, Edwin; and sisters, Carolyn Netzel and Arline Mackesey.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue, Madison. A visitation will be held from 9:00AM until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. A Burial with Full Military Honors will be held at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.

My heartfelt condolences go out to all my cousins and your families. Uncle Jerry was a jovial presence, always a good story to tell and memory to share. I thank him for his service to our country, to his family, and his community. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His passing marks the end of an era, children of Tony & Alma Frank, my grandparents. Thank heaven for Jerry & Esther's large family of all boys. The Frank's live on! I was the attendant for my sister, Esther, when she married Jerry. His brother, Ed, stood up for Jerry. He was a great brother-in-law. I will miss him, as I miss my sister so much.
