Catherine Tisserand

MADISON - Kay Tisserand, age 84, passed away peacefully at Agrace Hospice on Monday, August 5, 2024. Kay was born on March 2, 1940, in Monroe, WI to Raymond and Catherine (Costello) Mitchell. She graduated from Beloit Catholic High School and later earned an x-ray technician degree from Saint Mary’s College.

Kay married the love of her life, Joe Tisserand, on September 9, 1961, at St. Jude's Catholic Church in Beloit, WI. She was a loving and dedicated caregiver to her family, enjoyed gardening, reading, family gatherings and traveling the world. Kay had an exceptionally wonderful sense of humor, lit up every room, and had a calming effect that eased everyone around her.

Kay is survived by her husband of 63 years, Joe; children, Vicki (Scott) Tisserand-Seymour; Traci (Bradley) Tisserand-Goll; and Dan; grandchildren, Melissa (Brad), Ashley (Dexter), Olivia, Cassidi Kay, and Noah; and siblings, Diane (Les) Helgeson and Mike (Linda) Mitchell. She is preceded in death by her siblings, Jack Mitchell and Mary Mitchell-Mueller; and nephew, Todd Helgeson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at 11:00AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 602 Everglade Drive, Madison, with Fr. Brian Wilk presiding. A visitation will be held from 9:30AM until time of Mass on Wednesday at the church.
