Obituary For Keith Allan Stormer

Sun Prairie – Keith A. Stormer was carried by the angels Saturday, August 6, 2022, following a cardiac arrest. He was born on October 13, 1956, the son of Joseph and Mildred (Schroeder) Stormer. Keith worked at Madison Gas & Electric Company in the print shop from 1981 until his retirement in 2016. He was proud to work there and enjoyed joking with his co-workers and made lots of great friends along the way.

From approximately 1970 until 1975, Keith was a proud member of the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps and was in the horn line with the 1975 DCI World Champions, a time in life he cherished dearly and talked about often. He was proud to call them his brothers. Keith enjoyed being outside, especially hunting and fishing with close friends and family.

Keith is survived by his wife, Kristi (Nordeng); his daughters, Dana and Katy; and his three beautiful granddaughters, Meryn, Millie and Tessa. He was a loving husband Dad and Pa. Being a Pa was his favorite part of family. He is further survived by his brothers, Mike (Leigh) and Rick; and his nieces and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; mother, Mildred; and brother, Larry (Elaine).

A celebration of life may be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the American Heart Association or the Madison Scouts at https://scoutsproshop.com/products/forward-giving. To view and sign this guestbook, please visit: www.ryanfuneralservice.com.

Kristi,Dana, and Katy I am so sorry for your unexpected loss. The Stormer family (Joe, Millie, Larry, Keith and Rick) are my family and brothers from a different mother. I spent many hours, days and my adolescent life "breaking bread," at the Stormer household. I spent most of the major holidays at the Stormer household. At Thanksgiving we would have our annual Thanksgiving "Turkey Bowl Game," (rain or snow). Mike and Keith influenced my decision to learn to ice skate (although I never saw anyone like me on the ice. Even in the NHL). Because of the singular love showed to me from the Stormer family (during my difficult times) I can truly say I personally understand the lyrics in the song 🎵 "I never walked alone." Kristi, Dana, Katy know when you walk through "the wind and rain," of life, and though your dreams maybe tossed (for the moment) and shaken. "You will never walk alone." Ricky Elvord

Keith was one of my first role models as a young child and I'll never forget or take for granted the sacrifices he made to be there for me. I remember how he was always there for hockey practice, games & tournaments to support and coach me along. Although he was an incredible coach, the most profound impact Keith had on my life is his selflessness and kindness. He continues to be a guiding presence in my life as I raise my own children and hope to impart those same attributes to my boys. Thanks for everything coach, I'll miss you dearly and forever cherish our time together. My thoughts and prayers are with your wonderful family. Stu Gullick

Katy, I didn't get to know your dad too well when I coached the hockey team in Stoughton but I want you to know how sorry I am about this. I lost my dad at 54. Hold tight to all the good memories you have of him. God bless you- Coach Preston Berg

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

James S. | July 2020

The professional manner of the staff made a difficult time a little easier.

Lynda R. | July 2020

Services provided for both parents were perfect, on time, and no issues. Brenda is awesome and strong!

Michael M. | July 2020

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
