Hello Dorn Family ! I am so glad to have had a chance to visit you all yesterday. Some of you I was meeting for the first time which was my pleasure. Matt was special person to all of us ! I known him since we were 5 years old and glad to have been a friend of his. Those special childhood memories of growing up on Randy Lane will always remain with me. Our Prayers are with you all with love from the Hurst Family still on Randy Lane. I was the guest speaker on Inland Trout fishing for the Yahara Fishing Club last night. So, I had to leave the visitation earlier than I wanted. At the conclusion of my presentation I talked to the club members about Matt and I asked everyone there for a moment of silence in Matt's honor. Some of the club members knew Matt too. Thanks to your Dorn Family who always sponsored the Yahara Fishing Club. So on behalf of the Yahara Fishing Club of Madison WI. we extend to you our sympathy and condolances to all the Dorn Family members and friends of Matt Dorn. We worked with Matt at Dorn Hardware, I from 1989 until he retired, Ron even longer. Spent many hours in the office working to make business better. Have a memory , Matt would not normally take part of all the treats I brought to share but one day I made a Pineapple filled vanilla cake and he had 2 pieces. made happy to find that he enjoyed my cake. Sorry he could not continue to be in the business. I have thought about Matt and Anne many times in the last few years, Anne sorry for what you needed to do you are a great person. I met Matt in the last few months of his life and was struck by his deep kindness and his love and devotion to his family. We enjoyed many conversations. I am in complete admiration of his acceptance of his limitations, his strength and courage and the devotion of Anne. He knew he was loved. My deepest condolences to his family. He lives in your hearts.
