Obituary For Melvin "Wink" Charles Wincapaw

DeForest - Melvin Charles “Wink” Wincapaw, age 95, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 13, 2022. He was born on July 4, 1927, the son of Roy and Johanna Wincapaw.

Condolences

  • December 07, 2022

My condolences to all of the Winkcapaw family. I have never met any of you, however, Romaine is my 1st cousin once removed, my father's 1st cousin. The stories of Wink remind me of my father (Richard J. Kemp) who was born in 1925. They were the "Greatest Generation" surely. My best to all of the family, Mark Kemp

I lost my dad who is my rock and has been all my life. Being raised by him and mom was all happy memories. At times he used discipline but we all respected him. He was a shining example to us children about marriage as he was in love with my mom for all the time they were together. He was the model of man in that he was always clean and nicely dressed. He was always working whether it was house repairs rebuilding old houses and then selling them, and had a work ethic that he passed on to his children. He was old fashioned in an endearing way. When I came to Madison Point he would cheerfully say "Is that Gail D Taugher?" With a big smile on his face. I will always remember seeing mom and dad hold hands and sometimes steal a kiss. He was my hero

what our families say

Tiffany Foster went out of her way to fulfill all my requests, talked me through problems I was facing, and tried to make me feel as comfortable as possible when I was a wreck, totally crushed, and I thank her with all of my heart for that.

Skyler was absolutely amazing. She was so caring and helpful through this whole process. She even went above and beyond to meet with us in DeForest and even to make a stop at our home to drop off or pick up anything needed. While it was a small gesture, it was so helpful and greatly appreciated.
