Obituary
Wisconsin Dells – Richard “Dick” Ramminger, age 84, passed away at his home on July 15, 2024. He was born on January 21, 1940 in Portage, WI to parents, Othmar and Dorothy (Tollefson) Ramminger.
Dick was a 1958 graduate of DeForest High School, where he enjoyed playing on the football team. He married Carolyn McLeish on May 12, 1962 at Windsor United Church of Christ. Throughout their marriage, they loved traveling and camping together, especially at Larry and Judy’s in Warrens, WI.
During his career, Dick worked as a mechanic at Meier Truck as well as Hult and Thorstad Chevrolet, all in Madison. He owned his own business, Morrisonville Power Center, from 1979 until retiring in 2006. Dick was quite the inventor and he took pride in his work. He loved working on anything with an engine, including; antique cars, trucks and tractors.
Dick was a member of the American Truck Historical Society and the Two-Cylinder Club. He was dedicated to his faith and a member of New Hope Christian Church in Wisconsin Dells, as well as past member of Faith Lutheran Church in Morrisonville.
Dick is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Ramminger; sons, Brian Ramminger and Brad Ramminger (Kathy); grandchildren, Michael, Mathias, and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Maddi and Mila; brother, Roger Ramminger; sister, Susan Urben; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Karen Smith.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 26, 2024, at Ryan Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Rd., DeForest, WI, with a visitation one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Norway Grove Cemetery in DeForest.
