Obituary For Sally Sara (Scalissi) Ward

Sally Sara (Scalissi) Ward, age 96, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 7, 2022. She was born on May 31, 1926, to Georgio and Elizabeth (Licali) Scalissi in Madison, WI. Sally grew up in the heart of Madison’s Greenbush neighborhood with ten siblings and graduated from Central High School in 1944.

She was married to Roswald (Bud) Ward in 1946, and together had three children. They enjoyed working together having their own businesses. Purgold, Buds Pizza and Town Pump.

Sally was fierce when it came to politics and as a lifelong voter, she was proud to make it known to all. She kept up on currents events, being an avid reader of political news and other nonfiction. She was a big fan of MSNBC, watching daily until the end.

She was truly the Matriarch of her family. As the years went by, she was blessed with six grandchildren whom she loved and adored. She then was given seven great great grandchildren who were her everything. Nothing mattered more to her than family.

The world will never be the same without Sally's laughter and love. Imagine the celebration when they are all there to greet their last sibling, together at last. Sally is survived by her three children, David, George, and Shirley. Grandchildren Shayden, Faun, Robert, Angela, Miranda, and Samantha. And six great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Sally is proceeded in death by her husband, parents and ten brothers and sisters.
