Madison – Genevieve Kuehn Lewis, age 95, died on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg. She was born on September 23, 1925, in Madison, the daughter of Peter and Anna (Nonn) Kuehn. She was a graduate of Edgewood High School and College, and had degrees from the University of Wisconsin and St. Joseph College in Hartford, Conn. She married Eugene Lewis on August 4, 1956, and they had one son, David, who resides in Wylie, Texas. She worked in the advertising and public relations fields and taught fifth grade at the Edgewood Campus grade school and Nichols School in Monona. She was an Academic Specialist for the UW Extension, directing the Yarns of Yesteryear program, which collected reminiscences from seniors all over the state, and served as coordinator for the Rhinelander School of the Arts, the UW Elderhostel program, and other arts-related programs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Friday, July 16, 2021, at ST. MARIA GORETTI CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5313 Flad Ave, Madison. A visitation will be held at the church from 10am until the time of service. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery at a later date.
