Obituary

Madison, WI – Mark Nelson Tolsted, 47, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, April 23, 2021. He was born in La Crosse WI on May 24, 1973, the son of Bernice (Nelson) and David Tolsted. He grew up in the Northwoods of Rhinelander WI. After graduating from Rhinelander High School in 1991 he attended the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, graduating with a degree in Art with emphasis in Graphic Design. It was there where he met his beloved wife Kara in an Art History class.

Mark was a kind, talented man with a sense of humor that could be seen in his artwork and social media posts. Nothing made Mark happier than bird hunting with his pointing dog Floyd, fishing with family, attending music events and camping with his wife and friends. He enjoyed watching WI sports, wood carving, cribbage and tennis.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Kara; parents, David and Bernice Tolsted of Rhinelander WI; sister Christine Tolsted Tummett, nephew, Ryder of Minneapolis, MN; father and mother in-law, Ken and Mary Jo Haugom of Edgerton WI; brother in-law, Darin (Kate) Haugom; nephews, Aidan, Evan; niece, Kaia of Brookfield WI; godchild, Lizzy Meyer of Minneapolis MN and many other relatives.
