Robert Lemke

Madison-Bob Lemke of Madison died April 25, 2016 of heart failure. He was born in Cedar Grove, WI on May 2, 1927 the son of Leona and Herman Lemke. After his father’s death, the family moved to Sheboygan, WI, in 1934. Upon graduation from high school and military service in the Army, Bob graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1950. That year he married Mary Lou-nee-Koehn of Sheboygan who died in April of 2006.

Bob and Mary Lou had three children, Bob (Pauline) of Franklin, WI, Nancy (Steve) Gillen of Tomahawk, WI, and Michael and his significant other Brenda Bollig of Madison. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Herbert and infant twin sister Ruth.

Most of his working career was spent in the Forest Products industry involved in the sales and design of packaging material. Bob enjoyed coaching for West Madison Little League and coached a team in the 1971 Senior Little League World Series.

Bob will be remembered for his love of dogs especially his beloved Sonny. There will be no visitation. Services shall be held at the family grave site at a later date.

Bob would like to express his appreciation to the many friends that helped him live a good-happy life.
