Vivian Ferris

Madison - Vivian (Peggy) Mae Ferris, age 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. She suffered a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s while being cared for by her husband at home. Peggy was born on May 16, 1927 in Conrath, WI, the daughter of Clarence and Gertrude Hollenbeck.

Peggy married Robert (Bob) Ferris on June 5, 1946 and lived in Madison most of her life before retiring and spending summers in Wisconsin and winters in Florida. She was a full-time mother and part-time employee at a variety of Madison businesses including Smokey’s Club and Dorn Hardware. She deeply loved her children and grandchildren, and enjoyed watching birds, crocheting blankets, going to casinos and spending time with her beloved husband, Bob. She was a wonderful and caring person who was loved by all.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Bob of Madison; son, Rick of Sun Prairie; daughter Patricia (Mike) of Madison; Terri Whelan of Madison; grandchildren Dan (fiancee, Yuri) of Phoenix, AZ, Erin of Madison, Caitlin and Matthew of Sun Prairie. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Kenneth, Clarence (Junior), and Robert Hollenbeck and sister Lorraine Dorn.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, May 16th, 2016 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, with Pastor Gerry Kuhnke presiding. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment at Roselawn Memorial Park will follow.
