David Yaeger

Dave passed away peacefully, early in the morning, after a long and incredible life. He was born in a farmhouse in New Glarus on the 4th of July, making for some incredible celebrations yearly. He truly loved being with family and friends. Dave grew up in New Glarus, lettering in basketball and football. He worked in the local pop factory before being drafted into the service. After his service to the Nation, he was employed by the Carns Corporation until his retirement in 1996. Dave married Karen Leahy in 1967, and they raised a family of 2 boys on the west side of Madison. He achieved greatness in life as a father and grandfather, not only to his sons but anyone associated with him, he was like your father. He truly enjoyed supporting his children and grandchildren in any sport or activity they were involved in and would drop anything else to be there. Dave played fast pitch softball until his late fifties. Pitching for and managing many teams. He was also an exceptional bowler. He enjoyed golfing, gambling and watching sports.

Dave is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Dave Jr (Sandy) and Eric (Stacey); grandkids, James, Samantha (Calvin), and Stace; one older brother; and a younger sister. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bernadine (Spears); an older sister; and one younger brother.

A Committal Service will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in the chapel on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 2:00pm.

Rest in Peace Dave, you truly have earned it. Your memory will live on and we will reunite one day.
