Obituary

Karen Schreiber, age 82, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025 with her family by her side, to be with her husband of over 61 years, Tom Schreiber who preceded her in death in 2023. She was born on January 26, 1943, in Madison, WI the daughter of Leonard and Dorothy (Kilian) Peschel.

Karen was a 1961 graduate of Central High School. Karen was united in marriage to Thomas Schreiber on January 6, 1962. She worked many years as an accounting assistant for The Hoffman House and later Straus Printing, retiring in 2000.

She enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Her hobbies included quilting, reading, bowling and chocolate. There were many years she spent her birthday in Cancun, Mexico.

Karen is survived by her children, Marie (Tom) Pollard, Paul (Nancy), and Gary (Tabatha); grandchildren, Megan (Ryan) Boggs, Emily Schreiber, Marty (Sasha) Pollard, Austin (Kelsi) Schreiber and Jarrett Schreiber; great grandson, Tommy Boggs; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Enders; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas “Thos” Schreiber; and siblings, Doris Ann Peschel, Ronald Peschel, Charles Peschel, Dr. Richard Peschel, and Marrianne Jean Culbertson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at UW American Center for their dedicated care.

A Memorial Visitation will take place from 11:00-1:00 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2025 at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, WI. A private service and burial will be held.
