Mr. Roum was kind and made you love math and science. He was one of my favorite teachers. I had visited him and mrs. Roum at noel manner. It meant a lot to me to tell him what he meant to me.

Former student. One of many fond memories. While teaching us in a windowless room, if we got too noisy, he would turn the lights off. That would get us to stop. Long before cellphone flashlights..

Chuck served on the board of directors of our condo association. I looked to him for his wise counsel. I have missed both Chuck & Marilyn since they moved to Noel Manor. Memories are a way of holding on to those we love.

"Uncle Chuck" (to our kids) will be missed. We're so grateful for the long hours... driving to Nebraska to be involved in the lives/activities of our family.. not to mention the personal tutoring that helped our kids 'survive' advanced math. (It always seemed to make more sense when he explained it : ) We'll be forever grateful for his life. See you on the 'other side'...

I first met Chuck & Marilyn, as neighbors down the street. At a time the neighborhood was organizing to present info on how the property across from our homes might be developed. For reasons unknown, I was chosen as the "spokesman" for our group. At a meeting held at the Roum's home. (I think everyone stepped backwards when question was asked to step forward to volunteer. Nevertheless, what ensued was a wonderful friendship with both Chuck & Marilyn until I moved away, only to reconnect years later at St. James Church. Two if the best people one can ever know. Sadly, I also know the tragedy that Parkinson's afflicts; having lost a paternal grandfather, my father, an Aunt to it, and as my brother currently suffers from it. GOD bless him and his family.
