Obituary

Ryan Matthew Hart passed away unexpectedly on April 29, 2025 in Madison, WI at the age of 48. Ryan was born on May 3, 1976, the son of Dave and Betty Hart. He was an inquisitive, funny, energetic child with bright red hair and a hammer always in hand. His love for fixing things from a young age naturally led him into a career as a skilled automotive technician where he excelled in solving the most complex mechanical puzzles with ease.

Ryan is survived by his parents Dave and Betty Hart, his sisters Mandy Hart and Staci (Brent) Dahl. He was preceded in death by his brother Eric Hart.

A private memorial service will be held for immediate family only. Ryan will be laid to rest alongside his brother at Roselawn Memorial Park.

I was his best friend for the past 7 years. But we had been friends even in high school before I set out to see the world & fulfill my own dreams. Unfortunately I did I have to remove myself from his life in May of 24. But I always waited for his call to know he was OK. But I knew this day would come. The way I have always described him to everybody is that he could just pop the hood and look at your car & it was fixed! He was insanely talented with cars. Almost magical. He'd do anything for anybody. He even built a frame & poured a concrete base to reconstruct my step father's front porch & refused to take his money aside from the supplies. He has it done in under 6 hours. My stepfather succumbed to cancer in Oct. He never forgot Ryan's generosity in the hot August heat. I've been thinking it's been too long to not hear from him. I fell asleep last night fearing the worst. I woke up to his voice whispering, "Ella... I'm home". I grabbed my phone & immediately found this. I not only heard him I could also smell his scent of metal, oil & sweat. His suffering is finally over & he is restored back to his beautiful, healthy state. I love & miss you Ryan. The photo of the car your family choose really takes you home, nothing could be more beautiful. I know you're driving it thru the heavenly skies & I hope you pick me up in it when God calls me home. See you soon best friend.

Ryan was brilliant and I know he was there for loved ones when the chips were down. As his former Brother-In-Law, I learned a lot about 3-D printing, how things worked electro-mechanically, and Richard Feynman. Deepest sympathies to his family and friends. R.I.P. Ryan Sincerely, Ralph Smith
