Mary "Pat" Jones

Mary Patricia “Pat” Jones, age 79, of Madison, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025.

Pat was born on August 20, 1945, in Madison, WI, to Earl and Bernadine Jones. She attended St. James School in Madison and remained proud of her time there as an alumna.

Pat dedicated her career to serving the community, working for the State of Wisconsin, and Madison Area Technical College (MATC). She made many lasting friendships along the way and was known for her kindness and warm spirit.

She had a deep love for movies, plays, and musicals, and she especially enjoyed sharing those experiences with friends. Pat lived a full and independent life, surrounded by family and friends who cherished her gentle heart and vibrant personality.

A very special thank you to her dear friend, Connie Terry, who was by Pat’s side through the years. Connie was not only her theater and dinner companion, but also provided care, comfort, and unwavering friendship throughout Pat’s final days.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Bernadine Jones; and her sister, Nancy (Jones) Kazynski and brother-in-law, William “Bill” Kazynski.

She is survived by her twin brother, Clark “Mike” (Linda) Jones; nieces and nephews, Linda Kazynski, William “Billy” Kazynski, Lori (John) Kennedy, Mark Kazynski, Andy (Dianne) Jones, and Jennifer (Ricky) Fry; great-nieces and nephews, Cassandra (Steven) Baertlein, Catherine Jones, Ryan Fry, Michael Jones, and Holly Fry; and great-great-nieces and nephews, Agana, Phoenix, Elijah, Gabriel, Liam, and Kilean Baertlein.

The family would like to thank everyone for their kindness and support during this time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Mary Patricia “Pat” Jones to the Overture Center overture.org/donate, or to a local community theater or arts organization.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Ryan Funeral Home, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, WI. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
