Jack “Jon” Lee Anderson, age 85, passed away on May 24, 2025, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison. Jack was born on March 12, 1940, in Madison, Wisconsin to Ralph and Jean Anderson. Joining siblings: Ronald, Ralph (Buddy), Judy, Rachael (Becky) and Keith. He was a proud graduate of the class of 1959 Central High School; many classmates remained his close friends to the end.

In 1964, Jack enlisted into the Army and was stationed Fort Sam Houston in Texas. Unfortunately, medical issues prevented him from being shipped out or starting a long-term career. But it was where he learned about printing which he was involved with until his retirement from the State of Wisconsin in 2011.

In 1966, he wed Ann M. Adler in Middleton, WI. They had two children, Timothy and Kimberly. Jack was the fix it guy of the neighborhood where they raised their children. Need a tool, Jack had one! Have a flat tire on a bike, no worries, Jack would repair it. Jack was the guy who dropped anything and everything when a family member or friend called.

In their golden years, Jack and Ann enjoyed traveling to various casinos, watching Packers games, and playing cards. Jack was legendary for his cribbage playing! Along with attending baseball or football games, choir concerts or plays that his grandchildren were part of. They also had a standing monthly appointment to gather with Jack’s “Lunch Bunch” classmates.

Jack is survived by his wife Ann of 58 years; son Timothy (Patti) Anderson; daughter Kimberly (Jason) Neumaier; grandchildren Brandon and Tyler Anderson, Allison Hall and Jacob Adler. Along with his sister-in-law Jane (Matt) Swartout; half-brother George Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, sisters and their spouses.

A celebration of life gathering will take place on Sunday, June 1, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home Legacy Center, 6728 Mader Drive, Madison, WI 53719.
