Helen Rose Iwert, age 94, passed away on July 5, 2025 at Bay Harbor Assisted Living in DeForest, WI. She was born on March 21, 1931 in South Leeds, WI to parents, Carl and Sylvia (Baerwolf) Kvale.

She was a 1948 graduate of DeForest High School. Helen married Walter “Eddie” Iwert on June 16, 1956. Together they raised two daughters. Eddie preceded Helen in death in 1996. During her working years, Helen did clerical work for Farmers Mutual Insurance and later for Wisconsin Cheeseman. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She cherished spending time with her granddaughters.

She loved to have fun, keep up on Wisconsin sports, and always enjoyed a cold Bud Light when socializing at her favorite places like Homestead and Arlington Inn and doing Brewery Tours with her granddaughters. She will always be remembered for her patriotism, festive spirit and driving her 1950 Ford pickup in the Arlington parade.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Mark) DeMinter; twin granddaughters, Abigail (Alex) Diehl, Andrea (Hugo) Naxi; and many loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Eddie; daughter, Diane Iwert; sister, Frances (Robert) Rademacher; sister-in-law, Betty (Walt) Nieman and other loved relatives.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Agrace Hospice for their compassionate care. Especially nurse Payton and caregiver Kellie.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Zion Lutheran Church, W6906 Co Rd. K, Arlington, WI. A visitation will take place from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow services at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

I met Helen 20+ years ago over a cold beer at Arlington Inn. I soon learned that she knew my Great Grandparents and most of my family. It was always a pleasure to see her as she often shared stories with me about her life. She was the sweetest woman and lived her life the way she wanted…to the fullest. We often times danced to the oldies and sang along to old country songs. Her love for her country clearly showed as her car was always decorated in red white, and blue. She will be missed but never forgotten. My prayers are with you all during this difficult time and I pray you find comfort in the memories she made with you all. -Stacey Walstad

Helen was indeed "one of a kind" person. She enjoyed every event. Loved people and made everyone smile. Memories of her will live on in our community forever. She was Dick's babysitter and oh-- the stories they could tell of the "olden" days back in Leeds while they were BOTH growing up. We miss seeing her truck in the parades and the wave and smile of her celebrating the 4th of July. Helen will dance her way into heaven...... Our blessing and sympathy to Debbie and her family.

Jeff and I always enjoyed Helen's friendly personality. We miss seeing her at Zion. She was a joyful member through the years. We always enjoyed seeing her in the parades, especially on the 4th of July when she would be decked out head to toe in her red, white and blue. Helen is a loved memory from my childhood. Her and Eddie were very special people on the "Prairie." Theur daughter, Deb and my sister, Judi, we're (and remain) forever friends. My hope is to live life as joyfully, and fully as Helen did. She is already missed. Our condolences to all who mourn her passing. I bet Eddie is so excited to have Helen with him again. Pranks and dancing will increase in Heaven.
