Obituary

Larry Alan Larson, fondly known as “The Legend,” age 71, passed away at his home in Waunakee, WI, on July 4, 2025.

Born on October 21, 1953, in Madison, WI, to parents Wilbur and Erma (Auby) Larson, Larry was a 1971 graduate of Monona Grove High School. He got his nickname, “Legend,” during his softball playing days.  Always a huge sports enthusiast, he was a dedicated fan of the Packers, Badgers, and especially the New York Yankees. During his career, he worked for Kohl’s Supermarket, then Guell Sales and Marketing as a food broker and sales executive. Larry met the love of his life, Dee, on July 28, 2009, and they were later married in Destin, Florida, during one of their many vacations together.  Over the years, he made many great friends and memories at Players and Wilson’s sports bars.

More than anything, Larry and Grammy Dee cherished spending time with their five grandchildren:  Sylvie Ann, Caydence Charlie, Vaughn Taylor, Cal Alexander, and Scout Willow. To them, he will always be known as “Papi.”

Larry is survived by his wife, Dee (Adams) Larson; son, Chris (Emily) Larson; daughter, Jennifer (Chad) Anderson; five grandchildren; sisters, Lenora (Michael) Sandon, Sandra Seim, Joni (Nick) Howe, LuAnn (Corey) Neabling; along with numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, and former wife, JoAnne (Robert) Bradley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Jack Adams; and beloved dog, Da Coach.

A special thank you to Dean Care Cardiology and especially his primary physician, Dr. Harnish for all the care and concern over the past 15 years.

Per his wishes, no formal services will be held. A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Heart Association.

I knew Larry at MG. He was and still is a good guy. I enjoyed sparring with him on Facebook about the Bears and the Packers. May you be in heaven an hour before the devil knows you're dead.
