Obituary
Thomas “Juice” James Joyce
Tom passed away peacefully in his sleep on the evening of July 2nd 2025. Tom was born and raised on the northside of Madison, where he grew up with his parents, Jim & Darlene and 2 sisters, Tammy & Tracy. Tom was the “baby” of the family.
Tom went to East High School like a true “Northsider” and immediately went into the “family” business of working with his father in the City of Madison Streets Department, where he worked for 31 years. He married the love of his life, Marisa, and they started a little family on the city’s east side when they welcomed their son, Dillon, into their lives. Tom was so proud to become a father to his baby boy. Eventually, they moved their family to DeForest where they have lived since. Tom loved the outdoors, enjoying spending time at his wife’s family cabin, going camping with family and friends, and going hunting for many years with his son at his mom’s family farm. Tom also loved spending time with his “grandbaby” Macy Mae. Tom took pride in helping and being a part of the Knights of Columbus. After retiring from the city, Tom drove dump truck for a small family owned operation that truly valued him and he loved to work for. Tom was a dependable, loyal, and sometimes a little too honest type of man. But his close family and friends got to see the caring, fun loving, and genuine man that he was. He will dearly be missed and we know he is looking down on us.
He is survived by his wife Marisa; son Dillon; grand dog Macy; mother Darlene Joyce; sisters Tammy (Dave) Joyce & Tracy (Jeff) Linderman; his many sister and brothers-in-law, Dick & Karen Pederson, Lynn Salisbury, Perry & Monica Waas, Joe & Melanie Marthaler, Shelly Collier, Kelvin & Lisa Zahurones; and so many others whom he loved and who loved him.
He is preceded in death by his father Jim Joyce; his father-in-law Gene Collier and his mother-in-law Gert Collier; his trusty dog Banjo; his drinking buddy and brother-in-law Tim Salisbury; sister and brother-in-law Debbie & Tom Seroy, and his grandparents.
There will be a celebration of life in his honor to be announced at a later date.
