Mellissa-Abagail

October 3, 1985 – August 1, 2025

Mellissa-Abagail, of Janesville, Wisconsin, formerly of Madison, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, at the age of 39.

Mellissa was a vibrant and compassionate woman who lived her life with warmth, curiosity, and resilience. She was a beloved mother to her two daughters, who were her greatest pride and joy. Her love for them was boundless and unwavering, shaping every part of her life.

Professionally, Mellissa was known for her work at a car dealership, where she brought not only dedication but also genuine care for the people around her. She had a gift for conversation — whether talking with a stranger or an old friend, she made people feel heard, seen, and valued.

A lover of the ocean, Mellissa felt most at peace near the water. She had an adventurous spirit and a deep appreciation for new experiences. Traveling, exploring unfamiliar places, and learning about the world brought her joy and perspective. When home, she found quiet happiness in the art of crochet, creating beauty with her hands and heart.

Mellissa’s legacy is one of kindness, honesty, and openness. She lived authentically, loved deeply, and gave generously — of her time, her laughter, and her wisdom. Those who knew her will remember her not only for her sense of humor and infectious smile but for the way she made people feel comfortable just being themselves.

She is survived by her daughter and countless friends, coworkers, and extended family who are grateful and fortunate to have shared in her journey.

Mellissa’s life will be honored in a private ceremony with those closest to her. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor her memory by taking a walk near the water, striking up a heartfelt conversation with someone, or learning something new about a place you’ve never been.
