Dale Tygum

MADISON – Dale Omen Tygum, age 78, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2025, after multiple complications. Dale was born on February 8, 1947, in Madison, WI to Bertha (Nelson) and Arnold Tygum.  He attended East High School. Dale married the love of his life, Jean Geier, on February 24, 1968, at St. James Catholic Church. He was a charter member of St. Peter Catholic Church and a longtime member of the Grieg Club. Dale enjoyed golfing, watching football, betting on Parley Cards, Euchre, and spending time with his family. Dale will be deeply missed by his family.

Dale is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jean; daughters, Leslie, Laura (Johnie) Wheeler, and Lisa (Angel) Ortiz; grandchildren, Dale (Madison Surprise), Jeani, Daylen, Angel, Mariah, Ajia, and Alexa; great grandchildren, Kailen, Jayce, and Jalie; siblings, Anita Wick and Neil. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Dale is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Richard, Gary, Linda, and Anthony.  

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at 11:00AM at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave, Madison, with Fr. Michael Tarigopula presiding. A visitation will be held from 10:00AM until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.
