Amy Gentz

Amy Gentz, of Madison, Wisconsin, passed away unexpectedly on August 22, 2025, at the age of 63.

Amy was born on August 12, 1962, in Laona, Wisconsin.  After high school Amy graduated from UW La Crosse.  Amy then earned a JD from the UW-Madison Law School in 1988.  After graduating from law school Amy clerked for the Dane County Circuit Court.  In 1990 Amy began working for the State of Wisconsin.  Amy was an administrative law judge for the Department of Workforce Development and became a review attorney for the Labor and Industry Review Commission where she was highly valued for her expertise and her mentorship skills.

 Amy enjoyed golfing, traveling, and Badger games and spending time with her friends. Amy had a quick wit and a gift for storytelling.  Her kindness and generosity will be missed by all who knew her.

 There will be a celebration of Amy's life on Sunday, October 19, from 2:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m. at the Esquire Supper Club, 1025 N. Sherman Ave., Madison, Wisconsin.

 Amy is survived by her brothers Peter (Gail) and Steven, her sisters Joy Danoff and Gail Dreyer, nieces and nephews Brendan, Frank, Emma, Miranda, Rebecca and Amanda, seven great nephews and nieces, godchildren Alison Thompson and Colin Lancashire and many beloved friends.  Amy was preceded in death by her brother Matthew, and her parents David and Marge (nee' Osgood).

 In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ALS Association, or any other charity, on Amy's behalf.
