Ronald Allen Josick

1950-2025

Ron's most overriding characteristic is his kindness, compassion and generosity to friends and strangers alike. He cared about people and always took time for a smile, to express appreciation, or to learn a little more about someone.  If you earned his friendship, you were a friend for life.  He was tenuously loyal to his friends.

He never arrived at a friend's house empty handed, always bringing a bottle or bouquet.

He was devoted to his Mom, Ruth and sister Charlotte (Ken Stahl) showing his love of them in a million different ways. He selflessly provided them care and companionship throughout their lives. Two other sisters, Ann (Ralph Luce) and Shirley (Schmidt) were also recipients of his endless love.

Ron thoroughly enjoyed the many offerings of Milwaukee from attending festivals, concerts and neighborhood musical events to enjoying the marvels of Lake Michigan, Road America and the EAA. And let’s not forget his love of custard and Murph's burgers.

He was active throughout his life pursuing many sports endeavors from tennis, golf, softball, bowling, fishing and biking, He was an avid bicyclist often biking to the lakefront just to enjoy the waves.  His mechanical abilities served him and others well.

His sweetheart of a dalmatian named Pumper was a delight, accompanying him everywhere. She could maintain a running pace alongside his bicycle for long distances. They were inseparable.

He was a cancer survivor and was overwhelmingly grateful to the physicians that brought him another 15 years of life.  Throughout his life, he took good care of himself, but in the end, Alzheimer was a battle that couldn’t be won.

For over 60 years, Ron was an integral and valued part of close friends, Herb, Dorothy, Linda and Diane Marx, celebrating special meals and occasions together, sharing travel and experiences and finally providing care at the end, first Ron to Herb and finally being the recipient of care himself.

Immediately after graduating from Custer High School, he started work at Evinrude Motors where he again made many lifelong friends. Ultimately, Evinrude and corporate greed dramatically changing the work culture in Milwaukee.  The change was not kind to Ron. He didn't always get the best breaks in life, but he didn't dwell on the negative and moved on. He found enjoyment wherever it was.  His life was an inspiration of overcoming adversity and being true to oneself.  A life to be admired.
