Dr. Donald Michael Nowinski, age 93, of Waunakee, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2025, at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg. He was born on July 2, 1932, in Schofield, WI, the son of Michael and Martha (Pliske) Nowinski. He proudly served in the United States Army. Donald was united in marriage to Charlotte Wambold on March 23, 1957.
Donald graduated from UW Medical School in 1961. He practiced general medicine from 1962 – 1966. As a GP, he made house calls, delivered babies, and cared for “his” families in the Wausau area with kindness and professionalism. Donald went on to specialize as a Radiologist from 1969-1989, co-founding Radiology Associate of Wausau in 1974.
He was a member of the Wausau Country Club and the Maple Bluff Country Club.
Donald is survived by his wife of 67 years, Charlotte; son, Donald Jr.; son, Thomas (Jennifer); grandchildren Simone and Paige; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his 12 siblings.
