Obituary

Jerome Patrick Driver, affectionately known as “BlackBoy” or “JP,” was born on November 23, 1980, in Chicago, Illinois, to Antoinette Driver and Wilmer Jackson.

Jerome attended and graduated from Thornton Township High School and continued his education briefly at South Suburban College. From a young age, he showed a deep love for family, music, and sports. In his youth, Jerome enjoyed watching boxing and was known for his joyful personality, charm, and natural ability to bring a smile to everyone’s face.

A gifted singer and an exceptional cook, Jerome had a way of turning simple ingredients into memorable meals made with love. His infectious smile, sense of humor, and warm, caring spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Jerome’s love for his family was at the center of his life. He shared 15 beautiful years of love and partnership with his wife, Teri Driver. Together, they built a life filled with loyalty, devotion, and unbreakable commitment.

Jerome was also a proud member of the Bad Boyz bike club, where he found brotherhood, adventure, and a shared passion for the open road. His presence in the club was marked by camaraderie, laughter, and a deep sense of loyalty to his fellow riders.

On Friday, October 10, 2025, Jerome returned to his Creator. He is now reunited with his Grandmother (Big Ma) Ollie and Grandfather Arthur whom preceded him in death.

Jerome leaves behind his loving wife, Teri; six beloved children: DeQuan, Jerome Jr., Kamari, Jemyigha, Ny’Asia, and Thailyn; his parents, Antoinette and Wilmer; and a host of family members—siblings, aunties, uncles, cousins, and dear friends—who will forever cherish his memory.

Jerome’s presence brought warmth, laughter, and comfort. Though his physical presence is gone, the impact of his love, humor, and light will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be missed more than words can express.

I hate that I wasn’t there to say goodbye or to be present at your funeral. Sometimes as we grow older, life pulls us in different directions and distance forms without meaning to. I just wish I’d had one more chance to talk with you — to catch up, to laugh, to see how life had been treating you. That one moment would’ve meant so much. We never know the time, the place, or the day, and that’s why every moment we share should be treasured. Too often we take friendships and life’s simple blessings for granted. I can only hope that you’re at peace now, my friend. Jerome, you will be truly missed. I’m praying for strength and comfort for your family during this time. Until we meet again, rest well.
