William M. Bergeron (Bill) passed peacefully from this world at Agrace Hospice on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at age 81.
Bill was born on November 30, 1943, in Green Bay WI, to Francis and Esther (Morris) Bergeron. Bill graduated from Premontre High School (Notre Dame Academy) in 1962. In 1965 he enrolled in UW Green Bay where he met his wife, Sharon (Sherry) Eland, in ‘Marriage And The Family’ class. They were married in 1967. They moved to Madison, WI where Bill finished his BS degree in Psychology. He graduated “With Distinction" in 1969.
Bill served in the Marine Corp Reserves for 6 years in Green Bay and Madison WI and was honorably discharged. After college he went to work in Insurance as a Commercial Lines Underwriter. Bill worked for several Insurance companies before he began his career with American Family Insurance in their new Business Lines Dept. He retired after 25 years. He achieved his CPCU designation.
Bill’s life was a gift to this world. He was a kind and gentle man who opened his heart to anyone that needed help. He was an empathetic listener and regardless of his own concerns always had time for others. He loved volunteering at Good Shepherd food pantry. He was a trained Stephen’s Minister.
Bill was a huge fan of the Green Bay Packers and went to his first game at 5 years old. He loved to travel and he and Sherry made several trips to Europe.
Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sherry; sons William D (Julie Nord) and Jesse (Katie Crawford); and daughter Dana; grandchildren Joseph Harris and Hunter, Trenton, Brenden, Devin and Tayven Bergeron and beloved sister Barbara StClair (John).
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, many Aunts and Uncles, and some well loved friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7291 County Rd PD, Verona, WI at 11AM with visitation at 10:30 until the time of service. Internment will be in the adjacent Columbarium, with Military honors. It will be followed by a luncheon at the Church.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Agrace Hospice especially Nurse Isaac and CNA Marlena, and Destinee from Senior Helpers.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Agrace Hospice or Good Shepherd food pantry.
