Thomas Slattery

Tommy and I were best friends from our early grade school days at Our Lady of Victories in Jersey City. The last forty years we have been exchanging greetings on our birthdays. When I didn't hear from him on MY ninety-second birthday two days ago I checked the obituaries and found the most distressing news. My deepest sympathy goes to Loretta, Tom's children and siblings. Tommy was the brightest spark in our grade school. Everybody liked him. He was a real hoot to be around. Tommy and I were fanatical St. Louis Cardinal fans. We enjoyed countless baseball games together. One of Tommy's great pleasures was attending a Cardinal camp where he was personally coached by Willy McGee.
