Patricia Sargent

Patricia H. Sargent, age 90, passed away on October 28, 2025, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital. She was born on April 3, 1935, to parents Harry and Adela (Radtke) Stearns in Merrill, Wisconsin. 

Pat met her future husband William “Bill” Sargent when she worked as a waitress at a diner in Kendallville, Indiana.  They married on July 18, 1953. Later moving back to Wisconsin, she then went on to work at Webcrafters, where she retired after working 30 plus years. She loved bowling, reading, playing cards, boating, and most importantly traveling. In her spare time, she volunteered at the store in the apartment complex where she lived.  She had a strong faith in God and attended Ridgeway Church for many years.

Pat is survived by her 6 children Debbie (Norbert) Nellen, Geri (Richard) Marsh, Tracy Sargent, Bob (Laura) Sargent, Todd Sargent, and Shannon (Brad) Steinbrink; 12 grandchildren Tammy, Stacey, Jennifer, Melanie, James, Steven, Joshua, Shawn, Aaron, David, Christopher, and Kailey; 12 great grandchildren Leah, Caelie, Sophia, Cayden, Kennedy, Joey, Nicholas, Colten, Reagan, Samantha, Faye, and Myrra; and great, great granddaughter Delilah. She is further survived by her brothers-in-law Jim (Donna) Sargent and Gary (Laura) Smith and sisters-in-law Belinda (Jon) Roberson, Diane (Robert) Brown, Vickie (Joe) Eberhardt, and John (Terri) Acha. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents; 2-month-old infant son, Terry; and her siblings Jane (Ray) Gresen, Lila (Boyd) Roberts, Lois (Ted) Jirovec, Dawn Hein (Monroe, “Chub”), Maryellen Stearns, and Faye Stearns. 

A celebration of life service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Ridgeway Church, 3245 E. Washington, Madison, WI 53704. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Lunch will follow the service.
