Obituary

VERONA – Sharon R. Filsinger, age 64, entered eternal life, after a battle with cancer, on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Shari was born on March 4, 1961, in Madison, WI to Ward and Betty (Hill) Booth. She grew up in Verona and graduated from Verona High School in 1979. Shari married the love of her life, John Filsinger, on June 1, 1991, in Madison, WI. Once the children entered the picture, Shari was a stay-at-home mom. After the kids graduated and left home, she pursued her passion for wellness and healthy living. Shari liked walking, hiking, and nature. She particularly loved the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and the warmth and the beauty of Arizona in the wintertime. She also had a passion for animals, specifically dogs, including her recent rescue, Luna. Shari would want all of us to live with empathy and kindness and pursue our passions with gusto.

Shari is survived by her husband of 34+ years, John; her children, Ben and Abby; and sister-in-law, Teri Booth. She is further survived by other family and friends. Shari is preceded in death by her parents and brother, David Booth.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00AM on Friday, November 21, 2025, at Ryan Funeral Home & Legacy Center, 6782 Mader Drive, Madison. A visitation will be held from 9:30AM until time of service on Friday at the funeral home.

Dear John, Ben, Abby and of course Luna, It’s difficult to know what to say in this moment. You are all in my thoughts and prayers as you walk through your grief. I met Shari while she rented a winter place in my neighborhood. We became fast friend as we took our daily walks together in the beautiful Arizona landscape! Shari will be missed! May our God of love hold you up as you walk through this difficult time. With Love, Susan Richardson

I met Shari during a virtual IWD2021 breakout session. Her warm spirit shone through, and we made an instant connection. Although we never met in person, I know love when I see it. I admired Shari’s character and vulnerability. I also admired her exceptional photography. I used one of her pictures for the cover of my What Matters Journal. She featured one of my poems in her book. We respected each other’s work. I was sad about her illness and sudden passing; yet I am grateful that she is no longer in pain. My life is richer because Shari was my friend. My deepest sympathy and prayers for all who love Shari 💜

To John, Ben and Abby, may you take great comfort in all the wonderful memories you had with Shari and know that she truly loved you all so much. I have many fond memories of Shari during all our babysitting coop get togethers, church functions, and game nights. She was so devoted to her children and worked so hard to be the very best mother she could. I will always remember her warm smile. Hugs to you all. Karen Nuthals
