Obituary

Surrounded by love and family, our mom, Roberta “Bobbie” Comstock departed this life for her heavenly home on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Hattie’s Glen in Madison, Wisconsin. She was 90.

Bobbie was the heart of her family and a steady source of laughter for everyone who knew her. Born on October 15, 1935, she wore many hats throughout her remarkable life. Her greatest accomplishment was raising six children with her husband, Vic, in a warm and comfortable home where all of the kids’ friends knew where to find the snacks. She always had genuine interest, kind words, and a caring smile for each of them, while still managing to be a legendary curfew enforcer.

Throughout all chapters of her life, Bobbie was a hard-working, generous woman. At various times, she worked in real estate, accounting, and healthcare, as well as a (mostly unbiased) diving judge at Hill Farm Swim Club during her kids’ diving careers.

As a passionate and knowledgeable fan of Wisconsin sports, she cheered for the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers. Never alone in her fandom, she shared many games and great memories with her devoted son, Brek Comstock. The family has immense gratitude to him; his unwavering presence made him an angel on earth during her later years.

An avid reader, she found great joy in the pages of the many books she borrowed from the Verona library. Her love of reading was a constant in her life, as was her sweet tooth and quick wit. Her kids and grandkids always knew her to arrive with a suitcase full of treats and the message that dessert was not optional. She laughed with passion and shared by example that humor made everything better.

Bobbie was predeceased by the love of her life, Vic Comstock; brother: Dennis Keese; and parents: Robert Keese and Irene Conte.

She is survived by her children: Kris Morledge (Scott) of Austin, TX; Kelly Comstock of Austin, TX; Mike Comstock of Fort Lauderdale, FL; Colleen Wilkins (Brian) of Cedar Park, TX; Brek Comstock of Verona, WI; and Jeff Comstock (Alicia) of Georgetown, TX. Grandchildren: Kelly Morledge, Bailey Wohleber (Charlie), John Morledge, Kendall Morledge, Maggie Comstock, Georgia Comstock, Frederick Comstock, Justis Wilkins, and Brycen Wilkins. Step grandchildren: Kayla Matthews and Dylan Matthews. Great grandchildren: Wells Wohleber, Hollis Wohleber, Walker Wohleber, and Neely Wohleber.

In Bobbie’s honor, the family encourages you to share a laugh, enjoy something sweet, and remember that a life filled with love and humor is a life well lived.

A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 A.M on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 301 North Main St., Verona, WI. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Donations in grateful memory of Bobbie may be made to Agrace Hospice, Fitchburg, WI, or to the Verona Public Library, Verona, WI.

THE SHIP

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle. Someone at my side shouts, “There, she is gone!” Gone where? Gone from my sight. That is all. Her diminished size is in me, not in her. For there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes! Here she comes!" And that is dying.

Smooth sailing, Mom and Dad. We miss you but take comfort in knowing our captain and first mate have been reunited!
