Obituary

Michael N. Hust, age 67, passed away on December 13, 2025 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by the love of his family. Born on August 6, 1958 in Milwaukee to Fred and Mary Jane Hust.

Mike lived a life by hard work, adventure and deep appreciation for the people he loved. He graduated from Arrowhead High School in 1976. He went out to pursue several careers, including graphic design, truck driving and then became an electrician. That is what he retired as in 2025. He spent some of his best times with his daughter, Karly, the most important part of his life. Also, many hunting memories with his stepson, Jeremy. When he wasn’t working, he spent his time bowling, playing ball, hunting and he became a part of the car family. He played ball with Dotties of Stonebank for many years and enjoyed it and the people played with.

He had a passion for guns and he was deer hunting as soon as bow opened up-and hunted until gun was over. Mike treasured his cars and spent time at car shows and at the track.  He was planning a road trip this year. He had been planning to drive Route 66 with his special friend Larry Heier. He also enjoyed the state fair every year and his cowboy boots. Yeah, cowboy boots and in every color and assorted from lizard to ostrich and everything in between. Mike left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. How lucky are we to have someone who makes it so hard to say goodbye.

He will be greatly missed by daughter, Karly; step son, Jeremy (Haddie); Jude Igl-Hust; his father, Fred Hust (Jane); mother, Marija Gibson and the whole Hust family; aunt, Carol; and his best friends, Matt and Lynn Chojnacki. Also, his uncle, Larry, whom has been a very close friend the last couple years; and Sandy, his friend and neighbor in Mt Horeb, who helped him whenever he needed it .

Mike preceded in death by his brother, Bill Hust whom we all miss greatly. Also, his grandparents, Norbert and grandma and best friend, Margaret Hust.

A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held on June 7, 2026 at the VFW Post in Hartland Wisconsin from 1 to 5 p.m. Come celebrate with family and friends and bring a great memory you had with Mike and share it with us. Mike will be remembered for his love of his family and friends and memories he left behind.
