Obituary

Chris Schwoerer, 56, of DeForest WI,  passed away on December 28, 2025. She was born on August 24, 1969 in Berwyn Illinois to Margo and Harry Magers. Chris was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Her life was taken suddenly and far too soon.

One thing, however, that was clearly evident during her lifetime, she loved her family with her whole heart. She adored her husband, beamed with pride over her son’s accomplishments, and was deeply grateful for the gift of a most delightful daughter-in-law. The true light of her life were her two precious granddaughters. Nothing brought Chris greater joy than being surrounded by those she cherished most, her mother, sister, aunt and very own Nana were also on the top of her list!

Chris was a woman of determination, facing life with a quiet strength, yet firm and decisive when needed. Her words and actions reflected a life lived with purpose and love. She was kind, compassionate, and always showed up for others. And if Chris wasn’t able to help, she would send Marti!

To know Chris was to love her and to quickly appreciate her gift for organization, attention to detail, and timeliness. She could cue up a great playlist, recommend a good book, and everyone knew about her baked beans. And let’s not forget her need for speed on the highway—she definitely had a lead foot! And while she was fearless in so many ways, taking flight with Reagan was not on her wish list. But now, we believe she will be flying alongside him, her angel wings guiding us all and keeping us safe.

We celebrate her for the beautiful human she was. Her love was constant, generous, and unwavering. And while our hearts ache in her absence, her legacy will live on - in the family she cherished, the values she passed down, and the countless memories that will forever warm our hearts. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.

Chris is survived by her husband Marti Schwoerer; mother Margo Magers; sister Jessica (Chuck) Bennett, sons Collin (Kelsie) Schwoerer and Reagan Schwoerer and her granddaughters Nora and Gretta; aunt Marcella Hollinger; and stepdaughter Jackie. As well as many friends that have always been more like family.

She was preceded in death by her father Harry; beloved Nana Anne Hollinger, and uncles Pat and Chuck.

It is with a heavy heart that we say, until we meet again
