Tenneyce Sprecher

March 08, 1950 - January 05, 2026

Obituary

Our beloved Tenneyce Josephine Sprecher left us too soon on Monday, January 5, 2026, after a courageous four year battle with rare, aggressive serous endometrial cancer. We had the gift of time, her beating her initial prognosis of 15-18 months. She was very receptive to immunotherapy and chemotherapy, enjoying remission twice, for seven and eight months, when we traveled and enjoyed retirement as best we could, knowing her form of cancer was incurable, would probably mutate and come back. Her list for conventional therapy was getting shorter. We had been waiting for endometrial TIL (tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte therapy) clinical trials for two years. Our prayers were answered last August, when our cancer journey took us to Houston, TX and eventually Sioux Falls, SD for the five week trial. TIL destroyed some tumors but unfortunately no all. We lost Tenny’s only child, Rory, 52, to stage 4 pancreatic cancer during the Covid pandemic, just before her diagnosis.

Tenny was born on March 8th, 1950, to William H. Anderson and Delores (Brilliott) Anderson in Baraboo, WI. She attended St. Aloysius Catholic School, Sauk City, and graduated from Lodi High School. She worked for WI Department of Revenue, Madison, for 35 years and 13 years part-time at SSM Nursing Home as a CNA.

Tenny and Scott E. Sprecher were married April 15th, 1989, on tax day, fo 36 years. Together, often with Rory, they traveled extensively and saw the world: honeymooning in Europe, cruises to Greece, Egypt, holy land, Turkey, Panama, Colombia, sailing the Caribbean, Jamaica, Punta Cana, Alaska, Mexico, and Hawaii. They also enjoyed numerous trips throughout the country and Los Vegas.

Tenny loved the outdoors, hiking, walking our dogs over the years, biking, XC-skiing, kayaking, swimming, movies, fine dining, and enjoying home life, especially gardening.

She was preceded in death by her son, Rory Robert Lipke, sister, Dixie Mary, her parents, and two brothers, Joseph Leiser and Kevin Anderson, and sister-in-law, Mary Ann Leiser.

Tenny’s legacy lives on, survived by her adoring husband, Scott, three brothers, Gary Leiser, Billy and Alan Anderson, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 1:00PM until 3:00PM at Ryan Funeral Home Legacy Center, 6728 Mader Drive, Madison.

A special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Alissa Weber, SSM Madison, Dr. How, MD Anderson, Houston, TX, and a shout out to the entire clinical team at Avera Cancer Center, Sioux Falls, SD.

I worked with Tenney for many years at Dept of Revenue. She was the nicest was the sweetest person to be around. I seen her at the SSMH Cancer Center a few times as I am doing my own journey. She never felt sorry for herself and was an inspiration to everyone around her. She will be missed. Fly with the angels Tenney. You are now free from your cancer. God be with you.

The first time I met Tenney I was dating Rory and I was nervous about meeting his mom for the first time. Rory, Scott, Tenney and I drove to Devil's Lake, and the nervousness I had turned into laughter with warm welcome and love. I'll never forget my first trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico with Scott, Rory and you and the magic 98 shoe contest we won, along with many outdoor hikes at Devil's Lake. Your warm heart welcomed my kids, Josh and Cierra with open arms. Those memories will forever hold a special place in my heart. Rest in Peace, beautiful Tenney. ❤️ Love, Tracy, Josh and Cierra.
