Obituary

Mary R. Brantmeyer, age 82, passed on to her heavenly forever home on Saturday, January 3, 2026, where she will meet her wonderful earthly family.  Mary was born in Madison on “the best day of the year,” December 31, 1943, the daughter of Earl J. and Dotha Mary (Gilden) Seim.

Mary graduated from Madison East High School in 1962.  On October 13, 1962, she was united in marriage to Ronald J. Brantmeyer at Luther Memorial Church in Madison.  Mary worked at several Madison businesses throughout the years including: Webcrafters, W.T. Grant, Graber and WPS.

Mary loved animals, especially cats.  She also enjoyed quilting and lefse making at Burke Lutheran Church, where she was a long-time member, as well as reading, puzzles and computer games.  She and Ron enjoyed trips to both Hayward and Prairie du Chien for their anniversary, making sure to stop at Pete’s Hamburger Stand any time they were in Prairie du Chien.  Mary also loved sitting on her deck and watching the birds.  She was known for her delicious, deviled eggs!  Mary was so thankful for her family as well as her Burke Lutheran Church family.

Mary will be missed by her beloved children: Debbie (Tim) Lovick, Mark (Elizabeth) Brantmeyer, and Janelle (Bryan) Royston; her cherished grandchildren, Cody (Ashley) Royston, Bailey (Troy) Showers, Thomas Brantmeyer, Sunny Royston and Gillian Brantmeyer; her adored great-grandchildren, Logan and Emery Royston, and baby Girl Showers due in April; her cousin and long-time friend, Patty McCallum; her many nieces; and her special cat, “Ma”.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald; and her brothers, Gene, Richard (Jane), Joseph (Judy) and David “Fritzy” Seim.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Burke Lutheran Church, 5720 Portage Road, with Reverend Bryan Lagerstam officiating.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the church.  Burial will follow at Burke Lutheran Cemetery.

Mary’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary Seim for the beautiful pictures she created for Mary; to her special friend, Pat Meyer for her support; to Terri Stehling; and to Agrace Hospice.
