Obituary

Daniel Duane Allen, age 62, passed away peacefully at UW Hospital on January 2, 2026 surrounded by family. He was born October 16, 1963 in Mauston, Wisconsin, the son of James and Beverly (Becker) Allen. He graduated from DeForest High School in 1982 and resided in the DeForest area his entire life. He worked several years for Walgreens Distribution Center in DeForest. His favorite past times were being outdoors hunting and fishing with friends and family. If he wasn’t out in the woods or on the lake, you could find him running or lifting weights at the gym. He was also extremely proud of his children and found great joy in coaching their football, wrestling, baseball, and soccer teams.

Dan is survived by his children Nicole Gates of DeForest, JJ (Evey) Allen of Oshkosh, Brock (Mandi) Allen of Packwaukee; siblings Emily (Derek) Duane of Poynette, Rob (LuAnn) Allen of DeForest, Julie (Mike) McHugh of DeForest and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by both his parents and brothers Jimmy, Ed, and Don.

Dan has joined many others before him at the eternal deer camp, telling stories of the “good ol’ days” and fishing the rivers where they never stop biting.

Thank you to the person who called 911, the first responders, and the staff at UW hospital who provided him with exceptional care.

Dan will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and the recipients on the waiting list to whom he gave hope but will never meet. Please consider becoming an organ donor in Dan’s memory.

The family is planning a private memorial.
