Erick and I have enjoyed stopping in at the Esquire Club and chatting with John over the past many years. We're pretty sure he referred to us as the "walkers" since we regularly stopped in for a drink, the bathroom, and a joke on the way downtown. John made the best Reuben sandwich that Erick has ever had and his whipped cheese spread is absolutely addictive. John always greeted us with a smile and a never-ending supply of corny jokes - he was the consummate host who took great care of his customers and friends. It was obvious that he cared deeply for our community - his passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts and he'll be dearly missed. Our deepest condolences to John's family, Erick & Ann Schoenberger
