We always enjoyed the perch fish fry, and we always felt welcome.

Ron Gallman/Past Employee. I worked at The Esquire Club in the first part of the 80’s. The work atmosphere was always positive and enjoyable. I learned a lot about the Foodservice industry from John. Whe I decided that I wanted to go into Foodservice sales, John was very supportive, and still let me work Friday night fish fry’s. As the years past, I would see John at industry shows, and he would always come into my booth to say hello. I’ve lived in Colorado for 35 years now, but when I came back to Wisconsin, I would come to the esquire for the best fish fry in Madison. Guess who would always be in the kitchen, expediting orders? John. My condolences go out to all family members, for the lose of a great guy. Take care

Sorry to read of Johns passing. He helped many of us, including me, as we ran for the Dane County Board. He would always ask me " how are things in the City of Fitchburg" with a big smile on his face. He will be missed by many, Thanks for the memories John. May he rest in Peace.

John was one of the most loyal and committed individual I ever encountered. As a long-standing board member of the Greater Madison Convention & Visitors Bureau and related organizations, he was open, honest, supportive, strategic and always ready to step up and help and lead. I am so sorry to miss his memorial service. If I were in town, I would be there. RIP, John. You were a dear friend and I always knew you had my back and cared about what our industry could do for the community.

John was always very hospitable to our group of retired Madison police officers and told us how much we meant to him. He will be greatly missed. Godspeed my friend.
