Mike Savidusky, age 80, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, following a heart attack.

A lifelong Madisonian, Mike graduated from the UW in 1967. He was a dedicated steward of his family’s legacy, running Savidusky's FurQuarters for decades until the business closed its doors in 2013.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Julie; and his four children: Phillip (Jackie), Jonathan (Melodie), Meaghan (Jason), and Lauren (Jordan).

Mike was the proud grandfather of Aidan, Oliver, and Elizabeth. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Jane, and his sister, Diane.

In keeping with Mike’s wishes, he has been cremated. A celebration of his life will be held from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm on Saturday, May 2nd at the Warner Park Community Recreation Center (Community Room 1).

In the spirit of the Wisconsin Idea, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the UW-Madison Immigrant Justice Clinic to support their work in deportation defense and community solidarity.

Mike was my pledge son and roommate in the Madison Phi Gam house. We had some great times and memories that typify “Not for college days alone.” RIP dear friend.

So sad, so shocking, I just found out. We have been apart for far too long. To be honest, my memories of Mike shouldn't be shared in decent company. Surely, Mike would disagree and share anyway. Miss you, Mike. Love you, Julie.
