Robert Harm

Robert Louis (Bob) Harm passed into eternal life on Jan. 20, 2026. He was born on March 8, 1953, the son of Ernest and June (Lewison) Harm, and lived his entire life in the DeForest home that his father built.  As a young man Bob worked bagging groceries at a DeForest supermarket and enjoyed being a host at the 7E Supper Club.

After high school in DeForest, Bob studied at UW-Platteville and graduated “summa cum laude” with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.  He earned a master’s degree at UW-Whitewater. In his thirty-three year career as a school psychologist, Bob served the students of the Portage school district.  His students and colleagues appreciated his sense of humor, dedication to the work of the special education department, and leadership in the drug and alcohol abuse prevention program.

Bob retired in 2011 and became a devoted caregiver for his mother in the last years of her life. He then worked with his niece and her husband in their home building business doing post- construction cleaning of the new homes.  Bob was a current active member of the DeForest Lions Club.

Bob had an unwavering dedication to his faith and the work of the church.  He was a life-long member of the Morrisonville Lutheran churches and was currently an active member of United in Christ Lutheran Church.  He served the congregation in many ways including on the church council and as council president.  Bob loved to sing hymns and had been a member of a quartet that sang at services. 

Stained glass art fascinated Bob and he took classes learning to create beautiful pieces that family members cherish.   He appreciated the natural beauty of Wisconsin and enjoyed vacations in Door County with its local restaurants, shoppes, and art galleries where he collected art prints of Wisconsin wildlife.  His daily routine included feeding the backyard birds portrayed in the prints.

Bob’s sudden passing left a void in the lives of those who survive him: his sister Margaret Fiumefreddo and her husband John, his niece Amy Lewison and her husband Todd Berner, his nephew John Robert Fiumefreddo, several cousins, and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant sister Lois Ann, and grandparents, aunts, and uncles who were part of his close extended family. Bob touched many lives with his generous, kind, and happy spirit.  He enjoyed good conservation and interacting with people around him and will surely be missed.
