Verona - Dale A. Hagen, age 80, passed away peacefully on February 12, 2026, at Four Winds Manor in Verona. He was born on January 30, 1946, in Madison, Wisconsin, the beloved son of Arthur Hagen and Nona (Way) Hagen.

Dale married Audrey Marquardt on February 4, 1967, at Mount Olive Church in Madison. Being a lifelong resident of Verona, he had strong ties with the community. He purchased his dad’s barber shop on Main Street in Verona and worked there alongside his brother for 20 years. Dale then moved onto working for the State of Wisconsin where he worked for another 20 years until his retirement. With all of that going on, Dale was a volunteer fireman for 40 years at the Verona Fire Department.

Dale was an easy going and friendly individual who could easily make a friend. There wasn’t a situation he found himself in that he couldn’t strike up a conversation. Later in life, Dale and Audrey enjoyed their time at Noel Manor. He looked forward to the poker and bingo events there. As the “Mayor of Noel Manor”, Dale was very thankful to all the people there who helped to take care of him and Audrey.

Dale is survived by his two children, Tim (Marylou) Hagen and Amy-Jo (Mike Rink and his son Clayton Rink); four grandchildren, Cassidy (Nathan) Cokenour, Halli (Caleb) Bohrer, Jake (Renee Rech) Hagen, and Morgyn Peterson; siblings, Howard Hagen, Susan Wesche, Julie (Pat) Coenen and Marilee (Dave Proulx) Hanson; and other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Hagen; his parents, Arthur and Nona Hagen; and brother, Phillip Hagen; and infant sister, Linda.

A special thank you to the staffs at Noel Manor and Four Winds Manor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Dale’s name to the Verona’s Fire Fighter Association or St. James Lutheran Church.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at St. James Lutheran Church, 427 S. Main St, Verona. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9:30am until the time of service. A luncheon will follow the service at the church.

My sympathy to Dale’s family at this time of great loss. I had the pleasure of working with Dale at the Wisconsin Lottery in the late 80’s. He was always helpful and a hard worker. He was proud of his family and his community. I’m very glad to have known Dale.

I worked with Dale at the Wisc Dept of Revenue for many years. He was one of the most upbeat and friendly man you could ever meet. Heaven got another angel. I would guess St Peter is getting his haircut now while discussing the current events. Rest in peace my friend.
