Obituary
Jane Rose, 88, of Madison, WI, passed away February 13th, 2026, after a brief illness. Born April 18, 1937, in Minneapolis, MN, to Frank and Rose(Bleich) Sidlo.
She is preceded by her parents, brother Robert, and sister Ann Baerg. Jane is survived by her children, Vince(Julie) and Elizabeth Rose, and grandchildren, Sophia, Bella, and Clara.
Jane earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Minnesota — after a detour travelling Europe — and her Master's from UW-Milwaukee. She was a speech pathologist before becoming a learning disabilities resource teacher at Washington Irving Elementary in Milwaukee, where she retired.
She later moved to Madison to be closer to her grandchildren, finding community at Lakeview Lutheran Church through volunteering, the food pantry, book club, knitting circle, and Bible study.
Jane was an avid bridge player, quilter, and jigsaw puzzler. She loved the theater and a good bowl of ice cream. A Brewers and UW Women's Hockey fan, she'll be cheering for them on high.
"Sweet, feisty, smart, funny lady. She will be so missed."
On March 14, 2026, visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. at Lakeview Lutheran Church, 4001 Mandrake Rd., Madison, WI, 53704, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m.
