Obituary

Cambridge - Peter D. Grefsheim age 79, passed away on February 26, 2026, after suffering a stroke. He was born on June 8, 1946, in Madison, Wisconsin son of Norman and Helen (Nelson) Grefsheim. 

Peter, who graduated from Madison East high school, received a two year programming degree from Madison College and went on to earn a bachelors degree in computer science.

Peter enjoyed golf, ballroom dancing, and hiking. He was a dedicated Wisconsin sports fan. He loved UW hockey and basketball and cheered on the Green Bay Packers. Back when Badger Bob Johnson was Coach, Peter and his brother Jon would make long road trips to watch the Badger men's hockey championships in 1973, 1977, and 1981. Two of these championship games were played at Boston Garden & at Clarkson in Potsdam, NY.  Peter had season tickets for UW men's basketball games which he enthusiastically enjoyed.

Peter is survived by his daughter Kim Su (Chen), granddaughters Tay & Kai; grandson Jett; great granddaughter Rosie; great grandson Theo, brother Jon Grefsheim, niece Jamie & her children Angel, Maria, & Johnny, Howard’s son Anthony, special friend Christine Sannes, & sweet dog Ahna Bella. 

Peter is preceded in death by his parents Norman & Helen Grefsheim, & Nephew Howard G. Grefsheim. 

Visitation is at Living Water Church, 3075 Prospect Dr. Sun Prairie from 9:30-11am on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, with a memorial service and lunch to follow.
